This is a first, and it comes from Canada, from Montreal more precisely.bottle of water

THEbottled water has been banned within the Université de Montréal and the Polytechnique Montréal pavilions.

The aim is to take advantage of thetap water of Montreal, of quality. Most students will have reusable bottles rather than single-use bottles.

Water in plastic bottles is therefore withdrawn from food services, student cafes and beverage vending machines. 85 people are affected, which will represent a reduction of 000 bottles of water per year in these establishments.

Quench your thirst at the source

The idea of stopping distribution of water bottles single use was launched at the request of students and staff! With the aim of promoting tap water from Montreal.

Certainly the plastic bottles have made water consumption easier, but the consequences for the environment are catastrophic: an increase in the amount of waste and pollution generated by transport.

Water fountains are therefore made available and students and faculty are therefore invited to use pitchers and gourds or reusable bottles.

Bravo for this initiative that comes to us from a country, Canada, which, as a reminder, has banned Bisphenol-A or BPA for many years.

Can we not take inspiration from these practices?

In the meantime, here are the reusable bottles that we offer on 1rdesign: Reusable bottle
