I tested for at my own risk, a new concept of fast food

Thursday, professional meeting in Hamburg (Germany).
Departure from Gare de Lyon at 10:04 a.m. arrival Hamburg station at 19:52 p.m.
Yes, I am taking the train to be as “sustainable” as possible and consume less carbon :). In addition, I take the opportunity to work, while moving.

After leaving my things at the hotel, I decide to go eat in the city center.
A friend told me about a new restaurant in Hamburg “WAKU WAKU”. He didn't want to tell me more, but promised me a rewarding experience. So let's go !!!!!!!!!

The snack chain Waku waku emphasizes sustainability. This is what emerges from it, as soon as you enter it.
Already, when designing the store in Hamburg, we feel that the company has fully oriented itself towards the strategy of sustainable development, knowing (says the manager) that Waku waku Hamburg is an experimental prototype for the parent company.

It is a rough, untreated solid wood that dominates the entire central space of the dining room. Like a large table that serves as a center line, it divides this long room in two, which makes it very convivial all the same.

To complete the concept, even the furniture was recycled from that of the old company that was present on the site of the restaurant. And the solid wood ambiance stretches along the walls like an ornamental cord.

In terms of nutrition, the concept highlights organic brands and sustainability.
Along the entire length of the shelves, the chain highlights an offer of chocolate (okay, I love chocolate) from fair trade and organic products for sale, or to taste.

My opinion :

The very good
- I'm not fast food at all, but for once I was pleasantly surprised.
- The atmosphere, friendly, fast service, and pleasant and smiling staff.
- The food is seine and good overall, on the other hand with the language barrier, I ate something not very appetizing (but it's a matter of taste).
- The price: with starter, main course and dessert, I got away with less than 15 €, so good.

The less well

- A little noisy, because that evening it was crowded with people.
- The tendency to eat healthy seems to hold especially in the big German cities. This results in more and more new concepts, urbanity and nature together. I'm just waiting to know, if it's just a marketing stunt, or is it a real desire of all the leaders of the fast food chains
