Today I present to you a designer pendant lamp made of noble materials: porcelain and stainless steel. Designed by Laura Straßer, this lamp is manufactured and distributed by the Danish company Karakter.
A light inspired by a poem, a region and a grandmother:
Throughout her childhood until today, the designer has been fascinated by the German poem ”Von Ribbeck auf Ribbeck im Haveland” written by Theodor Fontane. The story evokes the life of Von Ribbeck who gives pears to the children of the village even after his death when a pear tree grows on his grave. The anecdote has it that Theodor Fontane is from the same region as Laura Straßer's grandmother.
A Scandinavian design, pure and natural:
The natural design of this pendant light is directly inspired by the tradition of Scandinavian design: clean and smooth lines, natural colors, quality of manufacture.
