“How can we create real, sustainable objects without the clutter of unnecessary objects that waste precious resources and harm the environment?”

"Conception that does not address this issue is, I believe, both irresponsible and irrelevant." - D. Trubridge.

David Trubridge is an extremely accomplished designer with a fascinating history.

After studying, getting married, learning to build furniture and having two children in the UK, he sold everything, bought a boat and left with his family to sail around the world in 1981.

26-12-2013 10-00-10After 5 years, they landed in New Zealand where they founded a company specializing in the creation of furniture and lighting, drawing inspiration from his travels and his encounters.

He compares our furniture consumption a lot to our junk food, which is designed to leave us hungry for more.

Echoing the thoughts of many who have traveled and been humbled by those places on earth where people live closer to nature and in balance with their surroundings, he creates useful and enduring objects.

It is his roots and his transmitted stories that have led to his success, and have pushed him to continue to explore the world of sustainability.
