KOREAN DESIGN
The Foundation of Korean Design and Handicrafts promotes the country's crafts with the support of the Korean Ministry of Culture. The latter and the Ateliers d'Art de France worked together on an exchange between Korean and French artists.
Korea is the eastern nation of ceramics, but it is also known for the craftsmanship of metal, glass, textiles, paper and even jewelry.
This partnership has enabled French artisans to exhibit in Korea and to meet artists. The exchange continues and L'Atelier parisien welcomes the work of Korean craftsmen for an exhibition and sale. The pieces selected for the occasion are designed for everyday use, combining functionality and aesthetics. Everything is carefully studied, from the object as a whole to the smallest detail. The designers revisit traditional objects in a resolutely contemporary approach.
Poetic forms, a play of colors, shapes and materials and modern techniques, summarize the work of Korean plastic artists, in harmony with nature, their main source of inspiration. A unique culture at the service of craftsmanship.
