Eco-design Adelphe offers decision support for packaging
Here is an excellent idea of the company Adelphe, which has just developed with Eco-packaging, an open source software (free software). It makes it possible to quickly measure the concrete benefits of eco-design approaches.
It is intended for all those who send packages regardless of the type of packaging.
Its name Bee (like the bee in English) Bilan Eenvironmental Epackaging
Developed by Eco-packaging and Adelphe, the software aims to make eco-design accessible to all companies, whatever their size and level of knowledge on the subject. Completely free, Bee is available online (http://bee.adelphe.fr/).
This tool measures the environmental impacts of the entire packaging system. Not only as a unit of sale to the consumer (bottle, bib, etc.), but also as secondary packaging (American grouping box), or even tertiary (overwrapping film, pallet, etc.).
The Bee software gives the user the environmental assessment based on four environmental indicators (contribution to the greenhouse effect, water consumption, consumption of non-renewable natural resources and production of non-recovered packaging waste) and three eco-design indicators (packaging weight, recycling rate and proper implementation of recyclability rules).
The user can save from five to a hundred projects, depending on whether or not he is a member of Adelphe
